Ashlyn Shockley Martin, LL.M., MPA

Ashlyn is an attorney specializing in family and elder law and the founder and board president of the Chisholm Leadership Academy, a nonprofit organization that leverages culturally responsive civic education and mentorship to diversify the leadership pipeline. Ashlyn is the former National Policy Director for New Leaders Council and served as the Executive Director of the National Council on Youth Sports Safety, a nonprofit chaired by 16th U.S. Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher. Ashlyn has worked within the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate, as a political director on a U.S. Senate campaign, and clerked in the Office of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn during law school. She began her career working with the Office of Head Start and National School Boards Association’s school health programs department. Ashlyn is a graduate of George Washington University, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Emory University School of Law, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and three sons.
